Prep C
Welcome to our page!
Our Unit of Inquiry for Term 4 is 'Minibeasts'.
The preps will be very busy this term. We have swimming on Thursdays, a Prep-Year 3 dinner in November, the Christmas concert and lots of learning about our unit on Minibeasts.
On Friday 16th October we had a session at school with Andrew Wegener, a wildlife specialist.
We looked at and even held many insects and bugs.
We learnt about:
-
Life-cycles & Metamorphosis
-
Comparing & contrasting structure & function of spiders, insects & other invertebrates
-
Food chains

We love using the Interactive Whiteboard especially to play Galaxy Kids Maths. Our favourite character is Number Cruncher!

Term 3's Inquiry Unit was 'Down on the Farm'
On Wednesday 19th August we went on an excursion to Myuna Farm where we experienced real farm life. The farm was a fun learning environment where we participated in a range of hands-on activities. We really enjoyed the animal nursery and feeding the animals, and going on a little train ride to the wetlands.

Last term some chicken eggs arrived in an incubator for our classroom and we saw them hatch!
Day 1: Our eggs and equipment have arrived!

Day 2: No movement yet

Day 3: There are some cracks. We can hear some chirping coming from the eggs.
